Payroll operations, with separate functions protected by locally-configured
security features. Employee data is entered just once and information

| SALARY ADMINISTRATION |
| Salary schedules using indexes, dollar amounts or both can be
stored in the APECS system. A new hire can be placed at their beginning
point on the schedule and movement through the schedule is automatic
for the length of their employment. The schedules can be used for
simulations during budgeting and negotiations |
| POSITION CONTROL |
| The APECS Position Control System supports the management of your
institution's position allocations and expenditures. It allows the
individual cost center and/or department heads to effectively operate
their areas on an ongoing basis by monitoring vacancies and overfilled
positions. It is an integral part of the budgeting cycle and can
also be used for tracking position history by position and by employee. |
| ATTENDANCE MODULE |
| The APECS Payroll Attendance Module tracks the absences of employees
over a user-determined time frame and in any level of detail. Each
occurrence is tracked by date and each type of absence is kept with
accruals and available balances. Absence information collected outside
the APECS system can be populated into our tables using programs
we provide. |
| PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION |
Payroll Administration is perhaps one of the most complex administrative
activities conducted by your institution. The keynote to the success
of any payroll system is flexibility. The APECS system allows each
employee to have multiple jobs with different pay methods and work
schedules. Additional features:

| PAYROLL HISTORY |
| A history record is created for each payment made to an employee.
A history record contains complete earnings and deduction detail,
and can be viewed online. The history file is an ideal source for
payroll audits and for conducting payroll investigations. In addition,
the file is the source for cyclical reporting such as preparation
of W-2s. |
| INTEGRATION WITH APECS FINANCE |
The Payroll and HR systems are very closely linked to APECS Finance.
The primary benefit of this integration is fully automated distribution
of payroll and related costs.
